Black Dog Salvage Treasures!

So today I had the chance to take a much needed girls day with some friends from Home Group. We made a little trip to Roanoke, to check out this place called Black Dog Salvage  which is this AMAZING salvage yard. But it's not just a salvage yard, half of it is full of booth's filled with designs owned by different designers that have fixed up a lot of these salvaged items.  Furniture, pillows, accessories, ect. All of them so unique and special.  Things you cannot find anywhere! The other half of the building is filled with hidden treasures that need a little TLC and fixin' up but are amazing and vintage.

They were even featured on the Nate Berkus show! Click here to watch. They are the 3rd salvage yard featured.

Here is some amazingness that is on the pre-finished decor stuff side

A casket and a baby stroller right next to each other, a symbol of life and death? Both for sale of course.

Ahhhh! Wanted!

Giddy over this amazing frame!

Wrought Iron Christmas tree with crystals

(Mom, look at this mirror! Perfect for your house!)

Want to come live at my house?

I just can't seem to get this lamp out of my head!

And this was the treasure hunting side! Rows and rows of vintage wood, crown moldings, old ceiling tiles, columns, door knobs, tile ect...

And a whole outdoor section filled with wrought iron and pottery!

Anyone need a bath? (or a toilet?)

Huge chunks of marble

I could only bring myself to purchase two things. Sea fans that I plan to frame and hang in the bathroom.
Only $6 a piece!

It was so hard not to walk away with more amazing treasures, but there will always be a next time I'm sure!

Cupcakes, Cashmere and Cutlery Giveaway

Hello my Darlings! I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the spring like weather today! I am excited to show you one of the exiting projects that kept me busy last week! I was asked by Going Out Chic to come up with a design that was cupcakes and cashmere inspired. I had to really put my thinking cap on to come up with a food and fabric inspired design.  But alas,  I cooked up 3 designs, one of which I will show you today!

I had a few pieces of silverware that I wanted to use for this project

I used a fork spoon and knife in Krylon spray paint, color, Ballet Slipper Pink

I gave them 3 coats of paint on each side

I found these place mats at TJMaxx in the clearance isle and was really inspired by the soft and vintage look they had.

Then I hot glued the the silverware to the place mat. I used a piece of cardboard to make a sturdy backing for the place mat.

The finished product!

This would be presh hanging on a kitchen wall to add a little sweetness and vintage flare!

Would you like this to be a part of your kitchen decor?

It can be all yours! I am giving this away to one of you darling readers.

Crafty phone cover!

After I posted my last blog entry about the $4 iphone cover, it got me thinking of another cute idea. I quickly whipped one up so I could share it with you. Please give me some feedback on these phone covers. I am going to be opening an Esty shop in a few days, and if these are something people like, I may add customizable phone covers to the shop!

What do you think?

So, let me know what you think!

$4 iphone cover

Hey everyone! Hope your all enjoying this beautiful Monday! So I wanted to share with you a quick little project that I just finished. The idea came from one of my favorite bloggers, DwellingsbyDevore, and I decided to copy her great idea! Find the link on how DwellingsbyDevore shows you how she made hers here.

This is a cute and custom phone cover that can be changed easily to give it a new look!

First I found a cheap clear iphone case on ebay for $4.

Then I found awesome digital paper from this blog, Mel Stampz. It was free and she has a lot of beautiful options to choose from!

Then I created my template in Microsoft Publisher

Then I printed it out, used an x-acto knife to cut out the template, using my phone as a guide, and cut a little hole for the camera and laid it on the back of the phone and snapped the cover into place.

I made another template, and I think I will make a few more just to switch it up whenever I want a change. Can't get any easier!

Thanks DwellingsbyDevore for this AWESOME idea! And thank you Mel Stampz for the beautiful paper!

White Watch Blissfulness!

So you all remember when I modeled jewelry for Laporte Jewelers on New Years?  You can read about it here and here

Watch the video from this special night.

Well I received a very Very VERY special gift in the mail from them. I jumped up and down in excitement when I saw it!  It was a thank you from them for going to an event in a limo, standing there dripping in jewels with my hair and make-up done by Plum Salon. Um, never needed a thank you gift for that! That was an amazing gift in and of itself! But alas, I received this from them~

Are you kidding me!?! Swarovski crystals on all the hour markers! Ahhhh!

And it's rose gold plated. Yeah buddy!!!

Amazing!

Thank you so much Laporte Jewelers! This watch is amazing! Thank you thank  you thank  you!!!
